Zero Tolerance Policy
Kappa Psi Theta Fraternity, Inc. maintains an absolute zero-tolerance stance on hazing in every form. Membership is earned through character, service, and leadership — not through humiliation, degradation, or harm.
Since our inception in 2013, we have taken — and will continue to take — a firm stand against dangerous hazing in every form. This policy applies to every member, candidate, pledge, officer, alumnus, and chapter of the Fraternity, on or off Fraternity premises, at every stage of intake, pledging, and active membership.
Hazing refers to any activity expected of someone joining or maintaining status in a group that humiliates, degrades, or risks emotional or physical harm — regardless of the person's willingness to participate. Hazing includes but is not limited to:
Any member, candidate, or pledge found to have participated in, organized, or knowingly allowed hazing activities will face immediate disciplinary action, up to and including permanent expulsion from the Fraternity.
Any member who witnesses or experiences hazing should report it immediately. Reports can be made to:
All reports will be investigated promptly and handled with confidentiality to the greatest extent possible. Retaliation against anyone who reports hazing in good faith is strictly prohibited.
All new members, pledges, and officers will receive education on this Anti-Hazing Policy. Each chapter is required to review this policy at the start of each pledging cycle. We believe that education is the most powerful tool in prevention.
Hazing is illegal in most states. Kappa Psi Theta Fraternity, Inc. will cooperate fully with law enforcement authorities in any investigation of hazing allegations. Members may be subject to criminal prosecution in addition to Fraternity disciplinary action.
